These intelligent machines are also gorgeous. Jura makes some of the best-looking machines on the market in our opinion, so it’s no wonder you’re interested in owning one.

Now that you know what is consistent these 5 models, let’s take a deeper look at what sets them apart and what use case they are best suited.

1. Jura Ena 4 – Best Value for espresso and coffee purist

If you’re hunting for a reliable automatic espresso and coffee machine under $1200 that doesn’t eat up your entire kitchen counter, the Jura ENA 4 (in Nordic White or Metropolitan Black) deserves serious consideration. This Swiss-engineered machine punches well above its weight, delivering café-quality drinks in a surprisingly compact footprint.

What Makes It Stand Out

What impressed us most about the ENA 4 is how Jura managed to cram serious functionality into such a small package. You’re getting genuine espresso capabilities without the bulk of traditional machines, which is a game-changer for apartment dwellers and anyone with limited counter space. It’s the kind of machine that proves you don’t need a beast of a device to make exceptional coffee.

Customization at Your Fingertips

One of the standout features is the user programmability. You can adjust both coffee strength and volume to your exact preferences, which means the machine learns your taste over time.

Whether you like your morning espresso bold and concentrated or prefer something slightly smoother, the ENA4 adapts to you rather than forcing you into preset options. This flexibility is something you’d normally expect from more expensive machines.

The symbol-based display is intuitive and refreshingly straightforward. Unlike some automatic machines that require consulting the manual every other week, navigating the ENA feels natural. It’s designed for people who want to use their machine daily, not puzzle over complicated menus.

Grind to Cup in One Motion

The professional-grade integrated grinder is where the ENA4 really earns its reputation. It grinds fresh beans moments before extraction, ensuring that aromatic quality you simply can’t get from pre-ground coffee. The consistency is excellent, and you can adjust the grind settings to match your preferences perfectly.

The Espresso Experience

Here’s where Jura’s engineering shines. The Intelligent Pulse Extraction Process is the machine’s secret weapon – it uses precisely controlled water pulses to maximize flavor extraction from your beans. Combined with the Doppio function, you can easily pull true double-shot espressos with the press of a button. For espresso enthusiasts, this feature alone makes the machine worth considering. You’re getting authentic double shots, not just running two singles back-to-back.

Real-World Performance

In daily use, the ENA 4 proves itself to be wonderfully reliable. It heats up reasonably quickly, produces consistent shots, and the cleaning cycle is straightforward enough that you’ll get to maintain it properly. There’s no fussy routine that makes you resent your machine after a few weeks.

Final Thoughts on Jura ENA 4

The Jura ENA 4 represents excellent value for anyone serious about their coffee but not willing to sacrifice practicality. It delivers professional results without pretension, sophistication without complexity. Whether you’re upgrading from a basic drip machine or downsizing from larger equipment, this compact performer won’t disappoint.

2. Jura E6 – Best Seller

Jura-E6-Piano-White-15559

For around $1800, the Jura E6 gives you a ton more option, and brings in an ideal blend of returning features we love from the A1 and D6 to make it well worth the price upgrade.

With the E6 you will get the smart filter and improved capacities from the D6 and the amazingly quiet and efficient G3 Grinder from the A1. You also get an increased bean hopper capacity, now at nearly 10 ounces.

Jura doubles the coffee strengths for the E6 as opposed to the D6, now offering an astounding 8 strengths.

Another major improvement in the design is a new, easy to use full color TFT display. Similar to the D6, the Jura E6 has a cappuccino foam only milk system that doubles as a hot water spout. There is also no bypass doser on the E6.

This is the first machine on the list with Smart Connect capabilities. With Smart Connect, Jura’s J.O.E. (Jura Operating Experience) smartphone app will expand the recipes your machine can do and add custom profiles and drinks to be made on command right from your phone or Apple watch.

You will have to purchase the $50 Jura Smart Connect accessory (view on Amazon), but you don’t even have that option with the previous entries on this list.

If you want more customization with coffee strength as well as temperature and a more updated display and compatibility with a mobile app, but you aren’t fussed with lattes, then the E6 would be a great choice for you. Read our full review on the feature-rich Jura E6 for the home barista.

3. Jura ENA 8 – Best Value for cappuccinos and lattes lovers

Jura-Ena-8-Nordic-White-15495

The ENA 8 features a modern, minimalist look with clean lines, premium materials, and a color display that’s bright and intuitive. The interface is simple to navigate, making drink selection and customization feel effortless – even for users new to automatic espresso machines.

Model: Jura ENA 8
Color Options: Nordic White, Metropolitan Black, Sunset Red
Housing: Plastic and Stainless Steel

Coffee Strengths: 10
Number of specialty drinks: 10
Dreg Box Capacity: Approximately 10 Servings
Jura-ENA8-fine-foam-frother-to-prepare-frothed-milk-for-cappuccino

At its core, the ENA 8 is a true one-touch automatic machine, capable of preparing a wide range of coffee specialties at the push of a button. Whether you’re in the mood for espresso, coffee, cappuccino, latte macchiato, or flat white, the machine handles the process from grinding to brewing to milk frothing with impressive consistency. One especially useful feature is the extra-shot option for milk-based drinks, which allows you to boost the coffee intensity without throwing off the balance of milk and foam—perfect for those who like a stronger latte or cappuccino.

The ENA 8 is equipped with Jura’s Professional Aroma Grinder, which delivers a precise, consistent grind while preserving more aroma than conventional grinders. This directly translates into richer flavor and better extraction in every cup. Coffee strength, brew volume, and temperature are all fully programmable, giving you the flexibility to fine-tune each drink to your personal taste.

This Jura also includes a two-cup function, allowing you to prepare two coffees or espressos at the same time – ideal for busy mornings or entertaining friends.

With a 1.5-liter water tank and integrated bean hopper holding up to 110 grams of beans, the ENA 8 handles daily usage without constant refilling.

Additional conveniences include an automatic cleaning and rinsing system, a removable water tank, and compatibility with Jura’s water filtration system to help maintain flavor quality and machine longevity.

Final thoughts on ENA 8: Overall, the Jura ENA 8 strikes an impressive balance between luxury, performance, and ease of use in a relatively compact package. It’s particularly well-suited for households that value convenience without sacrificing quality. While it’s a premium investment around $2000, the build quality, and comprehensive feature set make it a machine you’ll likely enjoy using for years to come. If you want automation, customization, and café-quality drinks at home, this machine deserves serious consideration.

4. Jura E8 – Best Overall

jura-E8-best-overall-jura-espresso-machine

For almost $800 more than the E6, the Jura E8 greatly expands the drink menu. It adds a much-needed bypass doser, increases the spout height to 6 inches for milk drinks, improves the milk system to the G2 Fine Foam for precision micro foam.

The E8 maintains the best qualities of the E6 like the Smart Filter, Smart Connect compatibility, full color TFT display, and the quiet and fast Aroma G3 Grinder.

Model: Jura E8
Color Options: White, Chrome, Piano Black
Housing: Chrome
User Interface: TFT color display with buttons
Adjustable Spout Height: 4.4” Coffee, 6.0” Milk
Coffee Strengths: 8
Number of specialty drinks: 16
Dreg Box Capacity: 16
jura-E8-best-overall-jura-espresso-machine

We especially love the addition of the G2 Fine Foam Frother, which has an automatic rinsing cycle and creates excellent milk texturing by drink, so you can easily make latte macchiatos and flat whites.

The drink menu now includes 16 beverages including ristretto, macchiatos, and espresso doppios. The Smart Connect accessory expands the drink menu even further, allowing you to make an infinite number of drinks.

jura-E8-includes-16-beverages-menu

You can even select hot water by the type of tea leaves you are using, and it will dispense it an optimal temperature for best drink flavor. Another unique addition is the ability to get a portion of milk that is not textured and simply hot so you can add it to your regular coffee or the “special coffee” recipe, which is a larger, bolder dose. All black coffee drinks can be made two at a time.

We love the design on the Jura E8 as well. The secondary coffee spout on the milk spout allows for all of your beverages to be truly one touch, and you do not have to flip a switch to get your milk like on the E6 and D6.

Check out the chrome paneling on either side of the main control center – it stands out from other brand models in its class. This is our second favorite design on the list after the A1.

Jura-E8-chrome-paneling-on-the-side

The Jura E8 is Jura’s hottest seller and wins the crown for most machines sold year after year. We think the flexibility and versatility this machine offers truly is all that you need. This is our pick for the best overall machine on the list and we can’t recommend it enough.

5. Jura GIGA 6

Jura-GIGA-6-Aluminum-Automatic-Coffee-Machine

We said the Jura E8 is all that you need, but what if you want more? Or maybe you have a large office you’re trying to supply with delicious specialty drinks. That’s where this top-of-the-line Jura machine, the GIGA 6, comes in. This super premium machine has so many unheard-of features, we might miss some in this quick overview, but let’s hit the highlights.

Model: Jura GIGA 6
Color Options: White, Chrome, Piano Black
Housing: Stainless Steel body with Aluminum accent
User Interface: 4.3” Touch screen color display
Adjustable Spout Height: 6.2”
Coffee Strengths: 10
Number of specialty drinks: 28
Dreg Box Capacity: 20
Jura-giga-6-large-Touch-screen-color-display-28-specialty-drinks

The GIGA 6 has two stepless electronically adjustable ceramic disc grinders so you can keep two different kinds of beans for two different drinks at the same time or even mix the grinds for a unique flavor. It also has a higher capacity bypass doser if you want to use pre-ground.

The drink menu is expanded to 28 café beverages, and you can customize those and add more to your heart’s content with the Smart Connect that comes stock with this model, no additional accessory needed.

jura-giga-6-two-stepless-electronically-adjustable-ceramic-disc-grinders

The customization on this machine blows everything else on this list out of the water, and you can save, copy, and personalize drinks right from the 4.3” touch color display. You have 10 programmable strengths and fully programmable milk functions with 10 temperatures and textures.

The milk system on the GIGA 6 can be used at the same time as the brew system with its dual boiler, and there are a ton of fancy combinations it can make by starting your drink off with finer milk and capping it with foam, changing the order, so on and so forth.

This is the best automatic milk frothing system with the most control we’ve ever seen.

jura-giga-6-dual-boilers-best-milk-frothing-system-with-most-control

The list of features on this GIGA 6 goes on and on from the ability to use giant travel mugs with its 6.2+ inch height capacity, its Wi-Fi capabilities, active bean monitoring, intelligent preheating, smart mode, energy saving mode, programmable auto on and auto off times, its huge capacities, automated maintenance, one touch for two, and more.

The only drawback of this machine we can mention is that it has giant capacities for its bean hopper and water reservoir, but its dreg box was not proportionately increased and holds just 20 brew cycles.

If you want to impress a large office, service an apartment complex or hotel business center, or host a lot of events at your home, the Jura GIGA 6 is the best machine for the job.

6. Jura A1 – A Legacy Model

Jura-A1-coffee-machine-piano-white

The A1 model is Jura’s entry-level automatic espresso machine that has a solid classic black coffee drink menu: espresso, ristretto, and coffee. You can adjust between two strengths and three sizes.

Model: Jura A1
Color Options: Piano White, Piano Black
Housing: Plastic and Chrome
User Interface: Touch panel buttons
Adjustable Spout Height: 5.6”
Coffee Strengths: 2
Number of specialty drinks: 3
Dreg Box Capacity: 9
Jura-A1-coffee-machine-prepares-professional-barista-coffee-quality

You can work through 9 brew cycles before you need to empty the dreg box, and the bean hopper and water reservoir will likely need to be refilled around the same time, as they are on the smaller side at 4.4 ounces and 36.8 ounces respectively.

This machine does not have a milk component, which makes it an easier to maintain option for the office breakroom or front end of a small business. Considering its smaller capacities, we recommend it for a low-foot traffic office if you do not have a dedicated assistant refilling it.

Jura A1 is an excellent option for black coffee beverage lovers at home. We love the sleek, high-end look of this machine and it’s our favorite style on this list.

The integrated grinder is Jura’s Aroma G3 grinder, which performs 50% quieter than average at double the speed.

You also get a bypass doser for pre-ground coffee.

Jura-A1-coffee-machine-aroma-g3-grinder

Another huge plus is its compact footprint at just 9.4 inches wide and 12.7 inches tall, making it the smallest option on the list. Still, it’s adjustable drink spout is able to accommodate coffee mugs up to 5.6 inches in height. You’ll get all the essential drinks and conveniences at the best price point.

7. Jura D6 – A previously-ranked model

ura-D6-patented-pulse-extraction-process-to-create-coffee-and-espresso

For just under $200 more than the Jura A1 you can get into our top pick for Jura’s entry-level super automatic with a milk option, the Jura D6. The key new drink added to the menu is the cappuccino, which also adds the ability to get a portion of milk foam for cocoas. You also get 2 additional coffee strengths as compared to the A1.

Model: Jura D6
Color Options: Black, Platinum
Housing: Plastic and Stainless Steel
User Interface: Rotary Controls & Digital Screen
Adjustable Spout Height: 4.3”
Coffee Strengths: 4
Number of specialty drinks: 7
Dreg Box Capacity: 16
Jura-D6-large-63-oz-water-tank

The milk solution specifically focuses on cappuccino foam, so there is no option for lattes, but it does double as a hot water spout for Americanos and long blacks or tea.

Another major upgrade is its two-at-a-time black coffee drinks. You can now get two espresso or two cups of coffee at once, which is ideal for entertaining at home or for more efficient office use.

Jura-D6-fine-foam-frother-to-prepare-frothed-milk-for-cappuccino

The Jura D6 also has a better water tank than the A1 with nearly double the capacity.

It has an Intelligent Water System compatible with Jura’s Smart Filters that make it so that you never have to descale your machine again. This is a huge added convenience as compared to the A1.

We love the added capacities on this machine, but one thing we wish the Jura D6 had retained from the A1 model is the adjustable drink spout height. The D6 gives you 1.3 less inches of clearance. You also lose the option for ristretto, which we miss.

Another upgrade the Jura A1 has that the Jura D6 does not is the G3 grinder, the Jura D6 has the G2. Still, the Aroma G2 Grinder has great performance, its just not as quiet as the G3. There unfortunately is no bypass doser on this machine, so you have to use whole beans.

The design on the D6 is simple, but it’s probably the plainest of all of the machines on this list. The rotary control system and small digital display is intuitive and user friendly, which is great for guests or clients that come to use it.

Final Thoughts

The best part about these Jura machines is that they all use the same brewing system. No matter which machine you go with, you’ll be getting the same fantastic quality of coffee made with Jura’s unique patented P.E.P. extraction system.

The deciding factor will be your favorite drinks and the size of your household or office.
